INTRODUCTION TO AEROSPACE SKILLED TRADES

By attending the IMP Academy, you are embarking on a journey that can launch your career in the aviation industry.

The Introduction to Aerospace Skilled Trades Program offers the ability to earn a variety of transferable certificates while testing skills and learning about aviation. This program is 4 weeks, with the end goal of applying to be an apprentice at IMP Academy.

The Introduction program includes approximately 120 hours in classroom training and 30 hours in practical/hands-on training.

This program is currently being offered with no tuition or textbook fees for all students.

Aviation training, as well as transferable workplace skills are covered within this program. Safety certifications gained within this program include WHMIS, Fire Extinguisher Training, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Controlled Goods. This program will also encourage skills that are essential to a healthy workplace, including courses on respectful workplaces, managing conflict, and teamwork. This program looks to teach students how to work in groups and build team skills, learn the basics of aircraft maintenance, develop mechanical aptitude skills, and gain experience in the aviation industry.

This program is aimed at those who are new to the aerospace industry and provides a great starting point for anyone interested in the aerospace trade. Upon completion, program graduates may apply to complete the 4-year work/learn apprenticeship program with no tuition fees, plus be hired into an apprenticeship role at IMP Aerospace or Cascade Aerospace for on-the-job training (OJT).
